Biochar

Green Waste

Which is basically bio in nature such as agro residue, green tender coconut waste, husks, fallen trees, sugercane baggase, foodwaste, wet waste, fish and poultry waste, market waste etc.

Legacy Waste

Is a mix of all categories and would always be in the form of an aged huge dump.

Muncipal Solid waste is collected from doorstep of houses and commercial and Industrial establishments by an nominated agency, and would be transported and handled to form a dump at waste stock yard.

The Waste is then conveyed by conveyors to dryers or rinsers and further conveyed into Tromels for segregation.

The Segregated waste is ready for further utilization and is disintegrated to form Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) or as Alternate Fuel Resources (AFR)

Further different categories are available for utilization.

Legacy Dump is an existing old dump and would have been developed a lot of Chemical and Physical changes and would sometimes emit dangerous gases like Methane etc.

Hence BIO MINING is done in a planned scientific manner.

Further segregation and conversion to RDF or required form is attained and it would be ready for utilization.

Green Tender Coconut Waste Based Co Firing Pellets:

Green Tender Coconut Waste (GTCW) is a part of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and has a challenge in disposal. “XPOZZ INDIA”, a Mangalore based Waste Management company ~ Procures, Handles and takes care of End to End Logistics upto the waste dump yard and Processes this waste to RDF, Slices, Briquettes, Pellets, Chips, Dust and Husk.

  • Our technology in this process is totally Mechanical, Dust & Odor free
  • The product is Dried, Crushed, Pelletized, Packed and reached to Global and Domestic clients.
  • These pellets have a Gross calorific Value of upto 4000 Kcal/Kg with Ash content below 5.0%

Refuse derived fuels (RDF) and Solid recovered fuel (SRF) made from municipal solid waste (MSW), Legacy Waste Dumps, Industrial waste, wood waste, landfill or dewatered sludge.

Waste and residues from wood processing industries as wood chips, wood bark and roots, sawdust.

Waste and residues from food processing industries as straw and husk from rice and grain; bagasse and sugarcane leaves; oil palm leaves, shells and empty fruit bunch (EFB); cassava; corn cob and stalk; coconut shells, husks and coir, coconut palm leaves; peanut shells; cacao residues.

Waste and residues from agriculture industries as bamboo, cotton gin trash, chicken litter.

Green energy plant cultivation as giant napier grass (elephant grass), sorghum, gliricidia and poplar (green energy plants differ in species and cultivation method from food plants and animal feed).

Biochar From Green Tender Coconut Waste From Msw

The Thermochemical conversion or carbonization of biomass into Biochar is done through Intermediate Pyrolysis Technology in the absence of Oxygen. Pyrolysis process parameters are controlled through sophisticated reactor design and DCS control system. Pyrolysis process is developed and optimized for higher char yield and also to produce in continuous scale. The reactor is equipped with screw Auger design system to which feedstock Green Tender Coconut is fed. The feed is conveyed through inner screw. The residence time of solids can be precisely controlled by the speed of screw. The feed with defined residence time is passed from the inlet feed chamber to the outlet chamber and fall in chat pot. The residence time, temperature, speed of the screw can be controlled very well with minimum variation and tolerance limits. The Technology, process and reactor can handle multiple feedstocks to produce Biochar. The byproduct of the process is Syngas or flue gas which can be condensed to Bio-oil. Excess Heat can be used in the process of feedstock drying.

Our unique approach starts with preparing biomass through drying, setting the stage for our specialised pyrolysis process. Here, organic matter is transformed into superior biochar, designed for carbon sequestration lasting over half a century. This method not only produces high-grade biochar but also generates bio-oil. When mixed with specific additives, this bio-oil initiates a chemical transformation, leading to our Organic Extended-Release Nitrogen Fertiliser (BioChar O-ERNF) – a top-tier solution aimed at enhancing soil fertility and boosting crop yields for farmers. Integral to our process is the recovery of waste heat, amplifying the overall energy efficiency of our system.

Unique Value Propositions:

  • Produce Biochar with Organic Extended-Release Nitrogen Fertiliser (BioChar O-ERNF)
  • Safe and compliant technology
  • Extensive waste-heat recovery – better technology LCA (Lifecycle Analysis)
  • Scalable, Modular & Continuous Pyrolysis Technology
  • Adaptable: Mobile and Stationary options
  • Lowered CAPEX and OPEX
  • Versatile feedstock compatibility, from Green tender coconut waste, light grasses to wood chips
  • 10-20% enhanced carbon sequestration and soil fertility over traditional biochar
  • Conforms to European Biochar Association Standards
  • Designed for easy maintenance and operation
  • 300-330 Annual Working Days

Process highlights:

  • The process is continuous with residence time down to just 2 to 3 min. It means the product is made under 3 min whereas conventional process takes from hours to days
  • The design of the reactor is such that it ensures the best heat transfer in the process
  • The entire process is controlled and run at a precision of + 2 deg C. This will ensure consistent Biochar product specifications
  • The process is highly exothermic and hence requires very minimal power
  • The entire plant is highly automated with PLC based controls and runs with no human intervention
  • The plant is designed according to European standards and can pass through all compliances
  • Requires very less area to be installed
  • Easy to operate and with less maintenance
  • Easy to upscale or downscale
  • The plant runs with minimal noise
  • The most important salient feature is that it can be used for variety of feedstock
  • The payback period is typically around two to three years
